My name is Matthias Reckendorfer
We cultivate fifteen hectares of vines on our family vineyard in the south-eastern Weinviertel region near the Slovakian border. It is located in Ollersdorf, at the foot of the first vineyards in the Weinviertel and at the transition to the Marchfeld, which is primarily known for its crops.
However, Weinviertel does not only mean “Grüner Veltliner”, which we of course also press. Our region is known above all for its fine Pinot Blanc and Riesling wines. They have been at home here - and in our vineyards Reinthal, Viertel and Vogelsang - for a long time. My heart beats for them. And for the trumpet, but that's another story.
Music and wine, wine and music determine the life of my family, who constantly and actively support me. That's why our labels have always featured a soundtrack. It is stylized in muted natural colors and its intensity reflects the quality pyramid:

Before the takeover in 2019 and after graduating from the Federal College for Viticulture and Fruit Growing in Klosterneuburg, I travelled the world a bit. My internships took me to the Johannes Zillinger winery (biodynamic pioneer in the Weinviertel), to Langmann in Styria, Mayer am Pfarrplatz in Vienna, Freiherr von Gleichenstein in Germany and to Seifried in New Zealand. Deep insights into the different approaches and working methods have further fuelled my enthusiasm for wine and sustainable viticulture.
In my grandparents' time At the time, viticulture with three hectares of vineyards was only a small part of the typical Weinviertel mixed business. It was my parents Karl and Gertraud - still as a sideline - who laid the foundations for today's winery with a total of fifteen hectares and built a modern cellar for our production. With their great support, I took the big leap at the age of 20 and became a winemaker. We have been ‘Certified Sustainable Austria’ since 2021, and with the 2024 vintage I achieved one of my major goals: the organic certification.
